I have a picture of Aliyah to share tonight. I took this about a month ago and I love how sweet she looks. We took her to a plastic surgeon today to get advice about her ears. They stick out (technical term=protruding ears) and multiple people have commented about how far they stick out. These comments have not had any impact on her thus far. However, we know that when she starts school, kids will definitly make fun of her and she will begin to become self-concious about her ears. The plastic surgeon that we saw today was very informative and I am greatful that we got the chance to meet with him. He explained that Aliyah's ears do not fold like they should and that she doesn't have a "bowl" on either ear like she should. He explained the surgical procedure to us and exactly how her ears would be pinned back. So, our little girl will be having the surgery but not for 1-2 years. The doctor said that ears grow until about age 5 or 6 so he recommends waiting til at least 4.5 years old. The surgery is an outpatient procedure, so that is good. The whole surgery part scares me but Brandon and I both know that doing this early, before she starts school, will be much better for Aliyah.

She really does look sweet and innocent in this picture! That was hard to capture, huh? :)
