Our Family Day Out

We decided to take a family day and head to the pumpkin patch yesterday. We don't do things just as a family very often so it was good to spend time together with just the 3 of us. We had a ton of fun but it would have been even better if it hadn't been 90+ degrees out. Who would have thought that we would be experiencing such hot weather the second week of October? I don't like it at all! I'm ready for some cool weather...not freezing, just around 60. Anyway, there was a ton of stuff to do. They had a little kiddie carnival with rides, games, and a little petting zoo for the kids and Aliyah loved it!

She rode the airplanes but she stared at the ground until right before it was over. She finally looked up at me and I was able to get this. I'm not so sure she was really into this ride.

She then decided to go down the big slide and of course, she loved it! She would have spent the rest of the day going down this slide if we would have let her. She went down twice and the second time, she rode down on her belly, which she thought was hilarious.

Aliyah wanted to ride a pony SOOO bad. We debated a while because she has never ridden on a horse before (and it cost $4). We decided to go ahead and let her ride. The guy just plopped her on top of a pony and didn't fasten her on at all, which made me nervous. She went around once and started saying she wanted off and the guy told her she was fine. Then her third time around she started screaming and the guy yelled at her and told her there was no screaming on the ponies. I wanted to yell back at the guy but I didn't. Maybe next time he will listen to a kid when they say they want off. You can tell in this picture that she is less than thrilled to be on top of that pony.

Then we went for a ride on a train, which was much better. No screaming and she enjoyed it.

We then headed out to the pumpkin patch. They drive you out on wagons and then come back and get you. Aliyah was scared that the tractors were going to run her over....funny girl. Brandon and Aliyah were walking through the pumkin patch and he stopped to point to a combine in a field. I think Brandon is amazed at combines....lol.
Here is the pumpkin that Aliyah picked out. It took a lot for her to pick that pumpkin up...it was quite large for such a little girl.

Look! A picture of Aliyah and I!! I made Brandon take a picture of Aliyah and I while we were waiting to leave the pumkin patch.

And finally when we got home, I turned around to find Aliyah sleeping like this. She had pulled her leg up and she was holding onto her ankle. It was so cute. I tried to get her leg and hand in the picture but I was taking this from the front seat which didn't leave much room to back up. She was SOOO tired!!
Wow, that was a lot of pictures. We had fun and I can't wait to go back next year. I just really hope that it is a little cooler next year.
