worms

I didn't get around to posting this last week and just came across this picture. Aliyah came home from school last Thursday with a container of dirt, some newspaper clippings, and a couple WORMS! Not thinking clearly, I allowed her to bring the container in the house instead of leaving it on the back porch. I was cooking dinner that evening and not really paying much attention to what Aliyah was doing. All of a sudden, I hear her say "shoot!" I turned around to see this.

Nice, huh? She spilled the entire container of dirt and worms on my kitchen floor. She had already gotten quite a bit of it cleaned up by the time I got the camera. I had to help her pick the worms up off the floor and put them back in the container before they crawled away. But there was plenty more for me to clean up when she was done.

The worms had to immediately go outside after this incident. I don't do well with creepy, crawly things...especially inside my house. They should be outside.
