the last week and a half + Halloween

Sorry I haven't updated in so long. I've been a bad blogger but I've had good reasons. Aliyah finally got better last week and insisted she go to school that Friday (over a week ago). I wanted to keep her home just to be sure she was completely better but she wanted to go. She hadn't had a fever for well over 24 hours and she was feeling better so I let her go. It was so cute when she walked in her classroom that morning, all her classmates were so happy to see her. She got several hugs and I heard "Aliyah, you're back!" several times. It's good to know she was missed. That night, Brandon and I took Aliyah to the movies. I spent most of Saturday getting caught up on housework and laundry. Then Sunday was church, home for Kinsley's nap, and then off to our church's Halloween party for the kids. We got to the party before I realized that I forgot my camera. Still kicking myself for that one. Both girls had a blast there and I'm pretty sure Kinsley thought she was the highlight of that party, cause she stole the show several times ;).

Then it was back to the 'ole grind Monday morning. School for Aliyah, work for Brandon, and errands and chores for Miss K and I. We were back in our normal weekly, busy routine when Wed night we got home from church and realized Aliyah had a fever *sigh*. Sure enough, she had a 101 temp that night before bed. So she was out of school again Thursday and Friday of this last week. Poor girl whined and cried WAY more on Thursday than she did the entire week she had H1N1. Her throat was hurting her bad and I could see it was red so back to the Dr we went that day and found out this time she had strep throat. Good news was she would be good to go in about 24 hours with the antibiotic. Bad news was that she was going to miss her one and only Kindergarten Halloween party/parade Friday morning and she was NOT happy about that!! We did manage to get out Friday night to do a little trick-or-treating but she was not fully back to her 'ole self again until Sat morning. I'm praying hard that she is not going to catch every single germ that goes around school this year. While we were at the Dr, I told her "after this, you need to stay healthy for a long time. Stay away from all the sick kiddos at school." To which she replies "well, I just think I'm allergic to all the kids." LOL!! Our Dr thought that was pretty funny =). Luckily, everyone else in our house has managed to stay healthy *knocks on wood*. I'm going to jink myself here...

We did get to take the girls trick-or-treating both nights and we now have a 5 gallon bucket FULL of candy. No, actually, it's overflowing. Hopefully I can stay away from that bucket and keep my hips just the way they are.... However, I do love me some sugar =)

I didn't get to take the girls out to get good pictures of them in their costumes since Aliyah has been sick. We are keeping her out of the cold as much as possible. I did manage to get a few at Brandon's parents house with the help of Grandma and Grandpa. Getting pictures of our girls is NOT a one person job and Brandon is done after about 5 seconds of trying to get them to cooperate. Enjoy our adorable little lady bugs =).

Aliyah, of course, did NOT want to cooperate. I had to bribe her with a dollar to get what I got and I still ended up with this....

Here they are waiting for Grandma to open the door.

LOOK! It's a REAL smile!!

As soon as Brandon saw this picture on my camera he said "you have to put that on your blog with WTF above it!" So, here ya go Brandon! Just for you!

WTF?

I took advantage of the girls' ages this year and dressed them to match. I actually didn't plan to, but it just worked out that way and I think they were adorable. Aliyah originally wanted to be a witch but I didn't want her to be a witch. I didn't want anything to do with a dress this year b/c she wore dresses for the past 3 Halloweens. And I don't exactly like witches so I was glad when she agreed to be a ladybug with Kinsley. Kinsley's costume was actually Aliyah's first Halloween costume. And I got extremely lucky to find the exact same costume for Aliyah at a thrift store. They had it priced for $4.99 but it had a rather large spot on the front of it. I asked the girl working if she thought it would come out and she didn't even know it was there and said they wouldn't have put it out so I ended up getting it for $2.50!! STEAL!! Love it when I get a good bargain! Oh and the stain came out! I bought Kinsley's black shirt for $4 and they already had the rest of the black clothes so I spent a whole $6.50 on Halloween costumes for the both of them. Pretty good deal if you ask me!
