week one

I can't believe we have been home with Emersyn for over a week now. Her first week was over on Monday and it's amazing how much she has changed already in just one week. She definitly does not look like her big sisters. She is all her Daddy. Long and skinny all over. Long, skinny body...long, skinny head...long, skinny fingers...long, skinny feet and toes. I have to admit...I'm excited that she looks like her Daddy (afterall, he is a good lookin' guy ;-).

Emersyn is doing really well. She's a really good baby. She only cries when she's hungry or having her clothes changed. She HATES to have her clothes changed. She doesn't mind being dressed or naked...it's taking the clothes off and putting the clothes on that she despises. She loves to lay on Brandon or I's chest and she hates to lay down in someone's arms. She must be upright on your chest. And she loves to be held. We've spoiled her. She wasn't put down the entire day last Wednesday after we got home from the hospital. She still doesn't get put down much, especially if Brandon is home. We love to cuddle with her too much. They're just so sweet at this stage and like Brandon said, she won't be this little very long so we better take advantage while we can =).

The big girls are adjusting well to having Emersyn in the house. Kinsley is doing much better than we had anticipated. She's not jealous at all of her baby sister. She loves to give her hugs and kisses. She's always saying "baby" and she will pat Emersyn and say "nice". LOL. It's pretty cute. Of course, Aliyah is a big helper (when, and only when, she wants to be). She loves to hold Emersyn and she's always quick to let me know if Emersyn is crying.

We are truly blessed to have 3 beautiful, healthy girls! And so far we've had 3 excellent babies. The older girls were happy babies and rarely ever cried and Emersyn seems to be following in their footsteps...thank goodness!

I took a few pictures of Emersyn yesterday and I plan to take more tomorrow. I figure if I take only a few at a time, I will have better luck...although she did really well yesterday. It's amazing how easy they are to photograph when they can't run from you ;-). I have a ton of pictures from the last week to share as well as soon as I find the time to proof them. I forgot how time consuming newborns are.

My awesome SIL, Nichole, ordered this blanket for Emersyn from Pottery Barn. I love it!! It's soooo soft! Thanks Nichole...and Justin, Logan, and Jadyn!
