Long time, no blog

I can't believe that its been almost 3 weeks since the last time I updated the 'ole blog. We've been extremely busy trying to get the baby's room done and it has taken the last 3 weeks and it is still not completely done but its almost there. Only a few more minor things to do. I haven't taken any pictures yet, which I regret. I wish I would have taken pictures of that room before we started and throughout the whole process. If I had known how much work and time would be put into the whole project, I definitly would have. That room has a completely different look to it and I LOVE it!! We didn't do much to that room when we moved in b/c we knew we would probably be changing it soon anyway and until now, it was only the play room/computer room. The room got a fresh coat of paint in three different colors, the wood trim is now white, the doors will also soon be white, the ugly wood floor got covered up with some awesome new carpet (I HATE hard wood floors...just for the record ;), the closet got a makeover, and of course all new furniture was added to the room. I can't wait to show some pictures. I just might have to take a few tomorrow and post a sneak peek, although it's not completely done.

An update on the baby - I will be 35 weeks tomorrow. YEA!! I've been having some mild contractions, probably Braxton Hicks, and some sharp pains over the last 2 weeks. I went to the doctor yesterday and told him about it. I didn't think much of it. Well, he did. He is a VERY cautious doctor, which is why I love him! He got really nervous thinking that I might be going into pre-term labor so he wanted to check me and he even ordered an ultrasound. He is leaving next week and will be gone for 8 days. He told me that he hadn't planned on me having this baby early and that he hadn't even planned for me to be in the office next week. He planned to see me in 2 weeks when he got back. Sounded like he planned his vacation around his preggo patients...what a sweet doc!! So, the results are that I'm not dilated - good news, and my cervix is shortening but I guess that is normal for almost 35 weeks. He gave me strict orders to take it easy. No heavy lifting, sit as much as I can with my feet up, blah, blah, blah. If you know me at all, it is really hard for me to sit all day. I am constantly up doing something. And to top it all off, I have that whole nesting syndrome going on right now. I just want everything done and ready for baby. I got everything put away and organized today so maybe now I will be able to relax a little and take it easy. Doc wants baby to stay in until at least 36 weeks so only 1 more week.

Since a post isn't a true post without photos, here are a few from Mother's Day. I got a necklace and a stained glass thingy from Aliyah that says "Mom, you are loved." She picked it out all by herself. Isn't she so sweet?!

Brandon took these pictures. I didn't do anything to them, not even sharpened for web so I apologize if they seem a bit off. It's all about the moment on Mother's Day :)

If you look closely, you can see my necklace in this one. (Daddy helped pick it out ;)

I can't wait to see photos of the room, but these are so cute too!

I am sure that you and the babe will be a-ok, but it is really wonderful to have a doctor that cares so much.
