Vacation - Day 2

We got another late start our second day of driving. We left Birmingham at 10:00. I guess you could say we're just not early morning people. It takes a while for us to get going. We had a lot to do though. Showers, get dressed, get the girls dressed, eat breakfast, pack up all of our stuff, and load it all in the van once again. I should have loaded one suitcase with just the stuff we needed for the one night stay in Birmingham instead of having to unload and reload everyone's suitcase and almost everything in the van. Lesson learned there.

The girls had to ride on the luggage cart. Kinsley liked it, I promise. She just didn't like it that she fell on her butt ;) And just in case anyone is wondering, Brandon was standing right in front of the cart in case K decided to take a spill off the edge of the cart.

After another 5 1/2 hours in the van, we finally made it to our destination....DESTIN, FLORIDA!!! Apparently GPS's don't work too well in Florida. We had the wrong address to the resort we stayed at, which obviously didn't help us but when we did get the right address, the GPS wouldn't let us type it in, which happened with several other places we tried to go while down there. We wasted almost 2 hours just trying to find our resort, which was NOT fun b/c Kinsley started screaming again until she fell finally fell asleep.

We made it there safe and sound though and that was all that mattered =) The girls had fun checking the place out.

My favorite part was the bathroom. It was HUGE!!! To the left was a whirlpool tub and to the right was a ginormous shower.

The whirlpool tub. Those doors opened up into the room. Aliyah played "drive-thru" every chance she got. The only bad thing about those doors was they didn't lock so if you were going to the bathroom, you got zero privacy b/c Miss Aliyah thought it was funny to open the doors while someone was on the pot. She also got in trouble for that several times.

Daddy crashed on the bed after all that driving. I didn't do any of the driving....none at all. I took care of the kids, entertaining them.

Daddy didn't get to rest too long though. He had to unload the van so we could hit the beach. Notice Aliyah's head sticking out on the passenger side. She "helped" Daddy unload the van.

Meanwhile, Kinsley was in heaven with all the new things to explore. I think she was just thrilled to be out her darn carseat.

We hit the beach asap. Aliyah just could NOT wait to get the ocean. Her THIRD time seeing the ocean and she just turned 5. Miss K did NOT like the sand....

But she was quite happy with the ocean ;)

She wasn't too sure about the waves though.
