the zoo

We all had a great time at the zoo yesterday but man we were all very tired when we got home. I haven't walked that much in a long, long time. Daddy took a nap on the bus ride home. I thought all the kids would be quiet and resting, if not asleep. Boy was I wrong. They were all wound up like crazy wild dogs. I don't know how Brandon slept b/c it was loud! Since we took a charter bus, the kids didn't have to sit in car seats and they were up and down the aisles of the bus. I made sure Aliyah was sitting, but she did move seats a couple times to sit by a different friend. I can't believe those kids had so much energy after all that walking!! If only I had half that energy, the things I could do ;)

Aliyah and her friend Meaghan waiting patiently to get off the bus.

We went in the children's petting zoo and there was a whole area of goats where you could just walk around and there were a million goats. You could brush them or pet them. One goat started eating a little girl's skirt and the look on her face was priceless and made me laugh, although it probably wasn't as funny to her. This goat was hanging out on this wall. I was afraid it was going to fall but it never did.

These little prairie dogs were the funniest little creatures. Running, jumping, and just all over the place. These little guys looked like they were posing for pictures...lol.

The bears were sleeping when we visited them. One in a tree.

And the other on a couple logs. You can't see his position on the logs really good in this one but it looked very uncomfortable. Those claws scare the bejeebers out of me!!

We met the biggest turtle that I have ever seen! It was mammoth!!

We stopped at a pavillion to eat lunch before heading home so we took the opporunity to get a group shot of all the kiddos and the teachers.

Aliyah also made a new friend yesterday at the zoo but you'll have to check back tomorrow to meet her =)
