cookies at Granny's

I'm way behind in posting but I'm going to TRY to get caught up this week....I say try b/c...well you know how that goes.

Saturday was cookie baking day at my Granny's house. I have a cousin who is 9 months younger than me and it was a tradition when we were young to make monster cookies at Grandma and Grandpa's every year. Well I guess I should say we mixed the ingredients and then ran off to play while Grandma and Grandpa baked all those cookies. A whole recipe of monster cookies is supposed to make 96 4-inch cookies!! Yeah, that's a LOT of cookies! My cousin has a daughter that is 9 months older than Aliyah so we thought it would be fun to start carrying on the tradition with our daughters. This was our first year and we learned a thing or two about baking with two little girls. For one, next year we will NOT be making a whole batch of monster cookies. That was a lot of baking! It took darn near the whole day. Good thing the little girls were able to run off and play all day without fighting or arguing at all, which I was really impressed with. They don't get to see each other very often so it was good to see them get along so well.

Kinsley got in on the action of sampling some of the ingredients ;)

I was afraid Aliyah wouldn't get her hands all messy (she doesn't like her hands to be dirty...such a girly girl) but she had fun digging around in all that goo.

Sampling some of their yummy-ness. Notice the chocolate on Chloe's face ;)

Showing off all those cookies! We ended up with 84 cookies!!
