that blankie...

***I wanted to wait to post this until I had a picture of Kinsley with her blankie but I haven't managed to get that picture yet and I wanted to get this posted before I forgot about it.***

was almost gone forever. *gasp* You see, we went shopping Sunday. Brandon and I split up so that I could go into a couple of stores and get some Christmas presents. He had Aliyah with him and I took Kinsley with me. After I ran to Toys R Us (which did NOT have the toy I went for...ugh!) I darted over to Michaels really quick to pick up some glass ornaments. I was planning on a quick trip. I don't know what I was thinking about the quick part. When you have kids, and especially more than one, nothing is ever quick. But anyway, I grab Kinsley out of her carseat and she's holding tight to her blankie. Normally we leave the blankie at home or at least in the van but since this was a quick trip in and out, I didn't bother with making her leave it. What was I thinking?!? I get the things I need, wait in line forever, finally get checked out and back to the van. I start putting Kinsley in her carseat when I realize she doesn't have her blankie! Oh, and meanwhile Brandon and Aliyah are at Cracker Barrel waiting on us to eat. I run back in Michaels and think it can't be that hard to find, right? Ha, WRONG!!! I traced my exact steps several times, checked at the front 3 times and asked every single employee on the floor if they had seen a baby blanket. Of course, noone had it, noone had seen it and do you think any of the employees helped to look for it?! NOPE!!! I was peeved by this time so I went back to the front and asked if she could take my name and phone # and call me when someone found it. Do you think they offered to take my name and #. NO!! I KNEW the darn thing was in there somewhere!! The worst part was that we were about an hour from home so if they didn't call while we were eating, I'd be out of luck and Kinsley probably would not have slept that night. Luckily, they called while we were eating and the blankie had been found!! I was SOOOOO relieved!!! After we ate, we went back to retrieve the blankie and Kinsley's eyes lit up when I got in the van with the blankie =). It's a good thing she didn't know how close she was to never seeing that blankie again....

From now on, blankie will have to hang out in the van to be sure she never gets lost again.
