We arrived at the hospital at 7:25am, ready to go. We got checked in and to the labor and delivery room. I was hooked up to the monitor. No contractions. Baby's heartbeat was great. Doctor came in at 8:00. Checked me and I was still 3cm and about 60%. He gave the nurse orders to start IV fluids and give me a pill to try to kickstart labor. Once I got the pill, I had to walk for 2 hours. That pill ended up wasting the entire morning away. It did nothing for me and I got really bored of walking the same hallway over and over and over again for 2 whole hours! I did get to eat a liquid only lunch...oh so yummy!
Then finally at 1:00, the pitocin was started. I started contracting but it wasn't anything like my labor with Aliyah. Once they started pitocin with Aliyah, I was contracting big time within an hour. With Kinsley, the contractions came and went for most of the day. They would get strong and be really close and then they would let up and be farther apart. I waited to get the epidural as long as I could b/c I didn't want it to slow things down like it did with Aliyah. I ended up asking for the epidural about 6:00pm and boy did I need it by that time. I actually should have gotten it earlier b/c I started throwing up right away and that sped things up. For the rest of the evening, I was either trying to nap or throwing up.
At 10:30, I was checked and I was finally ready to start pushing. Once they got everything ready to go and I started pushing, it was less than 5 minutes and Kinsley was here. I think I pushed maybe 4 or 5 times. We missed Aliyah's birth time by 4 minutes. Aliyah was 10:48pm and Kinsley was 10:52pm. As soon as my doctor put her up on my stomach, he said, "good thing we didn't wait til Friday. She's a pretty good size." I tried to tell him she was big, I really did.
Big Sister Aliyah had to wait until Wed morning to come and meet her baby sister. Poor little girl stayed up so late waiting for her to arrive. She kept telling Grandma that she couldn't go to bed b/c she had to go to the hospital. I really wanted little sister to arrive earlier but she had other plans.
Here are a few photos from the day.
Daddy enjoying a good healthy breakfast...rice krispies treat.

I sent my sister down to the gift shop to get a big sister bear for Aliyah. She apparently took this when she got back.

Still feeling pretty good at this point.
