Swim, Swim, Swim

Aliyah started swimming lessons yesterday. Grandma Donna signed her up about a month ago and all we've heard for the last month is "Do swimming lessons start today?" No. She was more than thrilled when she woke up yesterday morning and I told her it was finally time for swimming lessons.

Can you tell she was excited?

I wasn't sure what the 'L' on top of her head was all about until after I took the picture. She then asked me if I saw the elephant on top of her head....LOL! I tell her there's an elephant on top of my camera when I can't get her to look at me. I think she was mocking me yesterday ;) Her new favorite thing to do, by the way. She thinks it's hilarious to mock people.

Adorable poolside shot! The kids all had to sit and wait on the side of the pool while the instructor worked with each child individually. I'm really surprised Aliyah didn't just jump in the water. She has NO fear of water!!

Learning how to blow bubbles. (Although she already knew how to do that.)

She was so thrilled each time it was her turn. The instructor would pick each child up off the edge and lower them into the water. She didn't have to do that with Aliyah...she jumped right in!!

Of course now the famous question is "When do I get to go back to swimming lessons?" I can't even tell you how much this girl LOVES to swim. Grandma Donna takes Aliyah swimming occasionally. The last time Aliyah wanted to go swimming, I asked her if she wanted to call Grandma and ask her if she could take her. I got this response, "I want YOU to take me swimming b/c Grandma doesn't let me go in the deep!" (meaning deep water). Grandma Donna doesn't like water as much as Aliyah so she makes her stay in the shallow part ;) Aliyah is a little daredevil in the water and is NOT scared. I'm glad she likes water but it can be scary b/c you really have to watch her.

These are so cute and she looks so happy! Since she does have no fear of the water, I think it's fantastic and important that you're teaching her to swim.
