ER

That's where Brandon and I spent our day...the ER. Not fun. I noticed that my left boob was sore in the middle of the night last night but I didn't think much of it. Occasionally, I get clogged milk ducts. When I do, I just nurse more frequently, or pump, and it goes away. I nursed Kinsley after she woke up this morning and noticed it hurt a little to nurse. I didn't think much of it. We went to church and as soon as I got there, I started getting chills really bad. I was freezing but managed to make it through church. I came home and nursed Kinsley again but this time it hurt so bad, I cried. By this time, I had a fever, the chills, and my head felt like it was going to explode. I pretty much knew what I had so I had Brandon look it up on the internet and sure enough, I had every single symptom of Mastitis. Brandon thought I should go to the ER since the internet said that it would only get worse and spread if I didn't get treated asap. After an hour of waiting, I was finally seen. The ER doctor came in, checked me out and said that I had the beginning stages of Mastitis. He was going to send me home with an antibiotic and I was supposed to nurse as much as possible. Then he found out I had a fever and decided I needed to have blood drawn (and lots of it) and an antibiotic through an IV. Finally after almost 6 hours, I was released to come home. I'm feeling much better now but I'm still a little weak.

Not exactly how I wanted to spend my Sunday. I just hope I never get this again...it's horrible!!
