Meet Arthur

Arthur has been around our house for several months. He just showed up in our living room one day, unexpectedly. He comes and goes. Sometimes he's here for several days at a time and sometimes he's gone for weeks at a time. I'm not sure where he goes. Sometimes I forget about Arthur completely. And just as I think Arthur has left forever, he comes back ;) I don't know what Arthur looks like and I'm not sure how old he is either. You're probably wondering who Arthur is. Can you guess?

Arthur is Aliyah's imaginary friend. I don't ever remember having an imaginary friend but Aliyah sure does enlighten me with Arthur. Like I said, Arthur can be gone for several weeks and then all of a sudden reappear again. We haven't "seen" Arthur for quite a while....until today. Aliyah wanted a popsicle this morning so I gave her one. It was the kind on a stick. A while later, I found the popsicle slowly melting on my side table in the living room.

Here is the conversation that followed:
Me: Aliyah, why did you put your popsicle on the table?
Aliyah: because I was done with it
Me: you're supposed to put popsicles in the sink when you are done with them. your popsicle melted all over mommy's table.
Aliyah: Well, I didn't put it there, Arthur did!
Me: sure he did
Aliyah: he did Mom, I promise!!!!

I was telling Brandon this story at dinner tonight and he told me that Arthur got the blame for something yesterday (I don't remember what it was). Seems Arthur has been a naughty little boy lately ;) As Brandon and I were having this conversation, Aliyah states that Arthur is writing on my couch with an ink pen. I think Aliyah just likes Arthur to get in trouble ;) She kept talking about him, telling us what he was doing. She went through the whole story about the popsicle. I asked Aliyah if she wanted me to take her picture with Arthur and she said yes. Then I thought it would be cute if I could get her to talk about Arthur on the video camera so we can show her when she's older and doesn't believe us that she had an imaginary friend. The video is funny to me...you especially have to enjoy the little whine session at the end ;)

Do you see Arthur? He's sitting next to Aliyah and she has her arm around him.

I had to keep asking her questions about Arthur to get her to tell the story again and then she added a few things to the story. Hopefully you can understand what she is saying. I just love her sweet little voice ;)

You have now officially met Arthur. Don't you feel special?

That naughty Arthur! That video is so cute! Definitely a keeper. I'd watch out for Arthur, if I were you, especially if he keeps putting his popsicles on your camera!:)

What a cutie! I'm such a dork that I kept waiting for a picture to load in the blank area!!! I then read what you wrote and completely understood. :)

Hi Arthur, you naughty boy! Loved the video. All our videos of our kids at that age end the same way. :-)
