Happy Easter!

Sadly, I can't say that we had a great Easter. It was good, but poor Miss Aliyah is sick :( She has been complaining about a sore throat off and on since Friday. She hasn't had any other symptoms and she had been acting perfectly normal, until last night. Before she went to sleep, she just kept complaining and whining about her throat. I asked her if she wanted any medicine and she said no. She finally went to sleep around 11:00...2 hours past her bedtime. I still had to fill her basket and get everything ready for today. I was up until 2am. Aliyah woke up at 4:30 crying hysterically about her throat. I took her temperature b/c she was hot and it was 100.9. I got her some cold water to drink and gave her motrin and sprayed some children's chloraseptic in her throat. I got her back to sleep and went back to bed myself. She started crying again 15 minutes later. She was up 3 times between 4:30 and 5:30 so I finally put her in bed with Brandon and I. Although we have a king size bed, I am always on the edge when Aliyah is in our bed. She likes to sleep sideways on the bed which always leads to her kicking either Brandon or me. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep after I put her in our bed. She woke up at 8:30 and was feeling better. She didn't complain about her throat and didn't have a fever all morning. We were due to be at Brandon's grandparents at 12:30 and I debated wether to go or not. Since she was acting like nothing was wrong and she didn't have a fever, we went ahead and went. The whole time we were there, she was fine...never complained once. The second we got in the van to leave, she started whining about her throat again. And sure enough, her fever came back again. All evening, she would be ok one minute and crying the next minute. Looks like we will be visiting the doctor tomorrow. Let's hope and pray that it's not strep throat. I'm hoping she sleeps better tonight, but it's already looking like she's not going to. She fell asleep at 8:00 and it is now 10:00 and she has already woke up twice crying. My poor little baby. I just hate when she is sick :(

We did manage to color easter eggs last night. Both of my sisters came over to help us and we had a good time. I boiled 2 dozen eggs and they had all 24 eggs colored in like 5 minutes. Aliyah just kept re-dying them ;) Funny girl. She had a blast coloring the eggs. I took a ton of pictures and almost all of them turned out really blurry. I almost always use my 50mm lens but changed to my kit lens last night for the zoom and now I regret it. I think something is wrong with my kit lens due to all the pictures coming out blurry. Even the ones Brandon took on auto were blurry. At least I'm hoping it's the lens.

Here is Aliyah putting stickers on one of her eggs.

These are from this morning. Aliyah actually got 2 Easter baskets b/c everything wouldn't fit in one. I bought her too much little stuff. She's really into the Disney Princesses lately and I found a really cute Disney Princess basket really cheap at Kohl's the other night so I had to get it. I love how she is peeking around her frisbee in this picture. She had to hold every single thing up as she pulled it out of the basket.

A funny little story about the nerds. She asked what they were and I said "nerds." She said "oh, terds" and then carried on with pulling everything out. I looked at Brandon and said "Did she just say terds?" and he said "yeah." We both started laughing and she had no idea what we were laughing at ;)

Aliyah and Kaelen are the 2 great-grandchildren of Brandon's grandparents. Kaelen is Brandon's cousin's little boy and he is so stinkin cute! I just love his little tongue sticking out :).

Another funny story from yesterday. Aliyah is scared to death of the Easter Bunny as well as Santa Clause. We have one picture of Aliyah with Santa Clause which was taken her very first Christmas when she was 9 months old. We never got one with the Easter Bunny. Yesterday, I was driving down the road and came to a stop light. I had to stop b/c the light was red. Well, the Easter Bunny was standing on the sidewalk holding a sign for kids to get their picture taken with him. Aliyah noticed him and started freaking out. She was yelling at me to go and kept saying she didn't want to see the Easter Bunny. I told her the light was red and we would go as soon as it was green. She almost started crying but luckily the light turned green and I was able to drive away from the Easter Bunny. About an hour later, she kept talking about how she wanted to go back and see the Easter Bunny. I asked her probably a gazillion times if she was sure and she kept saying yes. So I drove back to where the Easter Bunny was standing and he was not outside...he was inside getting his picture taken with some little kids. I told Aliyah that and she said she wanted to get her picture with the Easter Bunny. I explained that she would have to sit on his lap and that she couldn't be scared. She said ok. So I asked a gazillion times again if she was sure and she kept saying yes once again. So I thought, I might as well give her a chance. I parked across the street from the business and we got out. I started to hold Aliyah's hand to walk across the street and she wanted me to carry her. I was explaining again that she had to sit on the Bunny's lap and she couldn't be scared. We got to the middle of the road when she spotted the Easter Bunny standing inside the building which resulted in her totally freaking out once again. I turned around and went back to the van. She got in and explained to me that the Easter Bunny could come to her house and sit on her couch and then she would sit on his lap and take a picture with him. Such a funny girl. I'm pretty sure she would have a heart attack if the Easter Bunny came to our house.

The sickies seem to have a way of finding kids on holidays, don't they? Sounds like you had a nice Easter despite it. Cute shots, and love the story of the Easter Bunny.
