Miss Chubbers is 7 months

Chubbers has definitly become Kinsley's nickname, especially after today. We took her to the doctor today b/c she has had a runny nose and cough for almost 2 weeks with no sign of it getting any better and her poor little nose was starting to bleed from being wiped so much. Also, she has been having problems pooping since Christmas Eve. I knew they wouldn't do much for the lack of pooping but I wanted to know what I could do for her, other than prunes, prune juice, and suppositories. Yes, Brandon administered a suppository last week b/c she had been pushing all day and just couldn't get it out and we had to give her some relief. Thank God for Brandon doing that for her b/c that is one thing this momma could not do. The doctor told us to give her dark karo syrup, 2 tbsp added to a bottle of water or juice 3 times a day to see if that helps. Hopefully it does. Aliyah never had a problem pooping so this is all new to us. Kinsley is still her happy usual self, but I just hate to see her strain so much to poop and nothing come out. Sorry about all the poop talk. Happens when you have little ones. Reminds me of one day last week. When Brandon got home from work, I got to give him the good news that Kinsley had a nice, big, soft poop that day and we about threw a party. He said, "you know you're a parent when finding out your kid pooped is the best news of the day."

Ok, enough about Kinsley's poop, or lack thereof ;)

On to the Chubber nickname. If you know Kinsley or if you keep up with the blog, you know that Kinsley has been pretty chubby since she was about 1 month old. And even during all that throwing up bit she did, she still managed to gain weight. At her 6 month checkup, she weighed 21 lbs. which surprised me b/c I really thought she felt and looked like she weighed more. 21 lbs. put her off the charts, like the 105th percentile. So she gets weighed today and I about choked when the nurse stated her current weight. Are you ready?

23 lbs 7 oz!!!!!! She gained 2 1/2 lbs in ONE month!!! I even asked the nurse to repeat her weight twice...lol! It's no wonder my back has been hurting lately. This girl needs to learn how to be mobile on her own, quickly!

Here are some 7 month stats for Miss Chubbers:
* sits all on her own.
* is not crawling and I really don't think she has any desire to. She got up on her hands and knees for a couple days and then remembered that she really hates being on her tummy.
* still has NO teeth (and I'm ok with that, really. no need to worry about being biten ;)
* does not say any words yet. Aliyah started talking at 4 months, no kidding!
* loves to be tickled.
* loves hugs from her sister.
* her fishbowl is her current favorite toy.
* hates to have clothes put on or taken off.
* wears size 3 diaper still but size 4 very soon.
* wears size 12 months clothes and some 18 months. she outgrows a size as quickly as she grows into it.
* loves fruit but not vegetables so much.
* will only eat oatmeal cereal mixed with water.
* loves drinking from her sippy cup.
* loves crackers for snack.
* wants anything you are eating or drinking in front of her and she gets mad if you don't share!
* tries to pull herself up in her crib. time to lower the mattress.
* always wakes up on her tummy. we lay her down on her back.
* wakes up once a night to nurse. usually around 3 or 4 am. so much for sleeping through the night like she was.
* always wakes up happy.
* likes to watch Daddy play Wii.

I realized tonight that I have not taken a single picture of her in her crib, so I did that tonight and here she is trying to pull herself up. Doesn't she look so proud of herself?
