Aliyah loves to bake. The funny thing is that she loves to make stuff but then she doesn't eat it after it's baked. She likes to eat raw cookie dough, the cake batter, or whatever mix she is making but once its cooked or baked, she doesn't touch it. She got quite a bit of baking stuff for Christmas including a cupcake maker, Easy Bake Oven, some cookie cutter sets, a new apron set with her name on it, a princess cookbook, and some other stuff. She has been waiting ever so patiently to use her new Easy Bake Oven and I promised her yesterday that we would get it out today. She got her cupcake maker from us so we made cupcakes Christmas afternoon but we didn't eat them. Let's just say they didn't turn out so well and they stink while their "baking" in the microwave. The Easy Bake Oven was from Uncle Eric and Aunt Melissa, so thanks to them! The cake actually didn't turn out too bad. It was eaten, unlike the cupcakes from the cupcake maker ;)

And just for the record, she cooperated for these pictures. No bribing, no complaining, no begging occured. She saw me with my camera and said, "Are you going to take my picture while I make a cake? I'll smile really big for you!" Needless to say I was pretty pleased with her. Maybe, just maybe she will be more cooperative of me in 2009. I can at least hope so, right?
