(I obviously did not take that picture. I got it from the internet. Just for the record ;)
I have to admit that I am not a history or political person at all but I was glued to the TV as much as possible this morning. Aliyah was just as interested as I was and I was glad to have the opportunity to share that experience with her. At the young age of 4 (almost 5) she knows who our new president is and what he looks like. It was really neat to watch her watch the whole thing on TV. She even asked questions about the things that were going on and about the people she saw. I thought it was really cute when she asked why Dick Cheney was in a wheelchair. She said "why is that boy in a wheelchair?" He's hardly a boy, but I explained that he hurt his back while packing to move to a new house (just as the news reporters said.) She was sincerely worried about him so I assured her that he would be ok and that it just hurt too bad for him to walk until his back heals. She has such a big heart. As much as she was interested in the whole inauguration process, it makes me wonder if she will be a political person...
I'm glad we have a new president. I liked Bush, and voted for him 4 years ago, but it was time for him to move on. I'm just hoping and praying that Obama can succeed in the things that he has promised and move America in a better direction. I like that he has 2 young daughters. They are adorable, for sure. I thought it was funny and cute how Sasha, the younger daughter, was dancing around during her Daddy's speech this morning.
May God bless President Obama and give him the guidance to get our nation back on the right track.
