It finally happened. It was only a matter of time. Kinsley darn near cut the tip of her finger off. We had just gotten back from the grocery store. I was putting groceries away and she was playing with toys. She came in the kitchen and saw the grapes sitting on the counter. I guess she wanted some b/c she went and got a folding chair and she was planning on using it to help her get what she wanted. Only she tripped over the chair and pinched her finger in the side of the chair. She started screaming (of course) and then I noticed the blood. I immediately ran cold water over it, only to see blood just pouring out of the tip of her finger. At this point, panic set in. I couldn't tell how bad her finger was cut. All I could see was the nail hanging there, only attached to one side of her finger. I managed to grab my phone and call my Mom, who luckily was already out and came over right away. Since her finger was basically pouring blood, I wrapped her whole hand in a towel until my Mom got here. I called Brandon to tell him and he came home. It's times like these that I thank God that he only works 2 minutes away. I really don't know what I would have done had my Mom and Brandon not arrived here so quickly b/c I about passed out. At one point, I got really hot and light headed and had to go sit down. It took almost 30 minutes for Kinsley's finger to stop bleeding enough to put a bandage on it. My Mom knew that she didn't need stiches, she just knew we had to get it to stop bleeding. I'm just really glad she cut her fingernail. Had that been her skin and she would have cut it down to the bone! Kinsley was a trooper during the whole ordeal. I think she was more mad after she couldn't get the bandage off, but once we got her mind off it, she was fine. And she managed to get 2 suckers and lots of extra love and attention out of the ordeal. She didn't even cry tonight when Brandon and I changed her bandage. Her finger looked really good tonight. I'm just not sure how that nail is going to come completely off and heal.
After I got myself put back together, I had to take pictures of her first big boo-boo. No blood though...I've seen enough to last me quite a while!

Quite a big bandage for such a little finger, huh? Poor girl...

All Brandon kept telling Kinsley was "I'm not surprised kid." LOL. Really, I'm not either. I just thank God that it wasn't any worse and that she did not need stiches.
