broken heater, homemade gak, and some cuteness

While I was blogging last night, our heater was being worked on.  I was in no mood to write about it last night.  One, I was worried sick that it wasn't going to be fixable and two, I was freezing and didn't feel like typing more than I had to.  It got down to 62 degrees in our house!!  I was so afraid that I was going to have to get the girls out of bed, pack them up, and head to someone else's house in the middle of the night because there was no way we could have stayed here.  We had space heaters going but they weren't doing much since it was so cold outside.  Luckily we are blessed with a heating/cooling guy in the family, Bradon's uncle.  He was generous enough to come over at 10pm and work on our furnace for us.  Poor guy was here until 1:30am but he fixed it!!!  I am so, so thankful for him!!!!!  Thank you Kerry!!  I don't know what we would have done without him last night.

Ok, moving on to today's happenings.  Miss Emmy learned how to clap yesterday. I tried to get a picture of her clapping yesterday but was not successful.  I got one today though!
It's quite possible the cutest thing I've ever seen!!  And she gets such a proud look on her face =)

Emmy is only 3 days shy of 10 months old and she is not crawling yet.  Don't let her fool you though, she can get around just fine.  It's funny b/c she will scoot, roll, stretch, reach, and do just about anything else to get where she wants to go.  She just won't crawl on her hands and knees.  She's gotten so close so many times.  Today she was after my McDonalds cup.  Streeeeetch...
Success! She was after that straw...lol.
I've been wanting to make homemade gak with the girls for a couple days but I haven't had the stuff to do it.  I got the idea from a fellow blog friend.  I finally got all the ingredients today so after supper, we made some good ole gak.  The girls LOVED it!!!
 Kinsley stirring it up.
 Daddy mixing it...
And it's ready to be played with!  This was super simple to make and it only takes Elmers glue, borax, food coloring and water.  Aliyah played with it all evening.  She just got a TON of really nice stuff for Christmas and I seriously think she was more excited over homemade gak than anything she got for Christmas.  Maybe next year we'll just wrap up some homemade gak for her...lol.
I took a ton of pictures of this girl today but while the girls were playing with their gak, she was being so cute playing with this doll, I just had to take more pictures =).

Yay! Glad to see that someone else tried it and loved it. We're still going strong playing with ours here and it's been about 5 days now. Very cheap and entertaining toy, right?
