proud mama

It was a pretty mellow Monday around here.  Nothing too exciting happened until Aliyah got home from school.  I suppose that is a good thing.  I tried to get a picture of these 2 this morning...

 But it wasn't going to happen.  I took two pictures before Kinsley threw Emmy to the side and said "all done" and jumped off the couch.  Aliyah came home and read her story to Emmy today.  (Kinsley wasn't interested in Aliyah's story today...lol.)

 This girl made me one proud mama today!

 She got straight A's!!!!!!  I am SOOOO freakin' proud of her!  Not to brag or anything but Aliyah is naturally smart.  She catches on to stuff really quick.  I don't think she's going to have to study much to get A's.  She has missed one, yes ONE, spelling word since the beginning of the school year and we only study 5 to 10 minutes each week, sometimes not even that.  I'm even more proud of her b/c she brought her math grade up from a B.  She struggled a little bit with math at the beginning of the year but their math curriculum is extremely difficult, even her teacher doesn't like it.  So to see her improve that grade just makes my heart explode with pride! :-)  We already went to Walmart tonight to get her a reward for her straight A's.  She's been wanting the ginormous box of crayons for a while so that's what she picked out tonight =)

Maybe tomorrow I will have some pictures of the girls playing in the snow.  We're suposed to get up to 6 inches of snow tonight.  I'm betting that we only get 1 or 2 inches though...
