1st report card and 30 weeks

Aliyah brought home her first report card yesterday. I didn't get the chance to get her picture with her report card yesterday so I did it today as soon as she got home. She wasn't in the mood to have her picture taken but at least she half-way cooperated. She did really well and has improved greatly since last quarter so I am extremely happy and proud of her! :). We didn't get a report card last quarter...we had parent/teacher conferences instead.

Love the tongue hanging out in the one ;). It's the look of concentration. She gets that from her dad...when he's concentrating, he makes all kinds of weird faces, like he's trying his hardest not to let his tongue hang out ;).

Fake smile...

Of course in Kindergarten, you don't get grades. You get either a Y(yes), N(no), or E(emerging). Aliyah got all Y's, other than one E which is on interpreting graphs.

I was going through old pictures today looking for some good ones to print on a couple of canvases and realized I haven't taken a belly shot since I took the first one back in November!! Oops! I tried to take some self-portraits but it wasn't working so I asked Aliyah if she wanted to take some pictures of my belly for me and of course, she was more than willing to do so! I think she did a pretty good job!!

Not of the belly, but this is actually a decent picture of me. I won't say great, but it's decent. I just may have a future professional photographer ;).

Another tidbit from today that I have to post b/c it's funny and I don't want to forget it =). Last night, I had to run to Dollar General for a couple of things and Aliyah went with me. I let her pick out a small toy b/c she has really been working on being a good girl lately and she has made things so much easier around here, instead of talking back to everything we tell her to do. So she picked out this egg that soaks in water anywhere from 24-48 hours until a dinosaur hatches. It's funny b/c she thought it would happen instantly and this $1.50 toy has taught her a little bit about being patient, and I like that ;). Anyway, she checked on the thing as soon as she walked in the door from school. She looks at it and real serious, matter-of-fact, states "yup, he's all cracked out." LOL!!! I laughed and texted Brandon right away. We joked about it when he got home and she was mad b/c we were laughing at her, but it was too funny!
