a goal and snaps of our day

I don't make new years resolutions b/c I never stick to them, ultimately setting myself up for failure. Instead, I decided to make a few realistic goals for this year. 2009 was a rough year for our family, for several reasons so I happily kicked 2009 in the butt and welcomed 2010 like I've never welcomed a new year before. And to help myself celebrate a new year, a new beginning, and a fresh start I made some goals. I'm not going to list my goals here (unless and until I actually accomplish them). Call me superstitious or whatever, but I know that if I list them here I, for whatever reason, will not accomplish them. However, I will state one goal b/c it has to do with blogging. I orginally started this blog as a substitute for scrapbooking and now that I no longer have time for scrapbooking, this blog has become our family scrapbook. I can have my blog printed at the end of each year so that my girls will have something to look back on when they are older. I wasn't very good at blogging in 2009 and therefore one of my goals for 2010 is to blog, blog, and blog some more. I would like to say that I will blog every single day, but again that would be setting myself up for failure b/c sometimes that is just not possible. So, I will say that I'm going to try my very best to blog every day. A lot of times, I wouldn't blog simply b/c I thought everyone else would find it too boring or my pictures just plain sucked for that day, but again, this blog is for my family so I'm going to be blogging the good, the bad, the ugly, the boring, whatever is going on in our lives. So be prepared to get it all this year =).

In honor of my new goal, I pulled the camera out today when I probably would have left it on the self or in my camera bag. While Kinsley was taking her nap, Aliyah pulled out her Thomas train set and told her Daddy "Daddy, sometimes you need to play with your kid instead of watch TV. I want you to play trains with me." LOL! She wasn't asking him to play, she was INSISTING he play with her. He didn't argue with her ;). He jumps at any chance he can get to play "boy" things around here.

She was pretty excited to have Daddy all to herself while Kinsley was napping.

I tried to take our picture myself by holding the camera out but it woudn't work since I had my 50mm lens on the camera, not to mention how hard it is to hold that heavy of a camera at arms length. Daddy had to take the picture for us and I love how this one turned out!

I kept turning the camera on Daddy but he kept giving me all these weird looks or hiding his face with his hood. I laughed when I got this one ;) He's thinking "don't mess with my chips!" LOL!

Finally managed to get a decent one out of him =)

Then I did something I've never done before. I handed over my camera to Aliyah and let her take some pictures of Brandon and I. She wanted to so badly so I decided to let her. It was so funny b/c she kept telling Brandon what to do..."put your head on top of Mommy's head" , "turn your head this way" , "smile, Daddy!" , "quit chewing!" SOOOO cute and funny!!!

"put your arm around Mommy" not bad for a 5-year-old, huh?
