big girl bed

We did it. We set up the big girl bed for Kinsley today. I can't believe it. She's only 19 months old. I know a lot of people put their babies in toddler beds before this age but after Aliyah refused to sleep anywhere but her crib for 3 years (yes, she was 3 when she finally gave up her crib) and never once attempted to climb out of it, I never dreamed that I would have to transition Kinsley well before she turned 2. But here we are. At least it's one less thing I have to worry about doing after the baby gets here, right? Although she doesn't look very happy in this picture (she didn't want to sit there long enough for me to take a picture) she was pretty excited about her big girl bed. I have a video of her playing on her bed but I can't get the darn thing to upload. Hopefully Brandon can figure it out tomorrow and I'll post it. He's in bed already b/c it's Mommy's turn to sleep in tomorrow =).

Oh, and she only cried for about 5 seconds when I put her to bed tonight. She woke up at 12:30 last night crying. I went in and laid on the floor with her for about 30 minutes. She's used to putting herself to sleep and I figured she wasn't going to go to sleep with me in her room so I finally decided to just shut her door and let her cry herself to sleep. She cried maybe a minute and then I didn't hear anything else out of her until this morning :). I'm hoping she doesn't wake up at all tonight. We shall see...
